1994

Victoria hosts the XV Commonwealth Games

The city of Victoria welcomed the world and inspired a generation of Canadian athletes on home soil.

1994

The Legacy Fund is born

Following the Games, community leaders established a permanent legacy fund to sustain high-performance sport in Victoria.

1999

National Triathlon Centre opens

The fund's first major infrastructure investment, a training hub that put Victoria on the map for endurance sport.

2000s

Three Waves of Excellence

Over the decade, three distinct generations of fund-supported athletes reached Olympic and World Championship podiums.

2012

Rebrand to 94 Forward

The organization rebranded to better reflect where it was headed, while keeping its '94 roots front and centre.

2024

Fund reaches $27 million

Thirty years of careful management and community support grew the legacy fund to $27 million.

2028

Building toward LA

With the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics on the horizon, 94 Forward is accelerating investment in the next wave of Canadian athletes.
